What If We Live In An Infinite Universe? One With No Beginning

An Infinite Universe or One With A Beginning?

The concept of a beginning is probably a rather simplistic way of observing the world. It is a generally held view that the universe had a beginning. It must have. All theories are based on this premise, be they the big bang theory and its derivatives: string theory or inflation theory. Or the many creation myths found littered in ancient manuscripts and in modern religious texts. The concept of an infinite universe never comes into consideration.

But what if all of those theories are wrong? What if they are based on a false premise? Consider, if you may, the possibility of an infinite universe.

It is generally accepted that if you start with the wrong premise, or you ask the wrong question then you are destined to end up in the wrong location. All assumptions based on the same erroneous belief will, of necessity, end up in the same general destination, regardless of their points of origin.

If the premise upon which the various theories are built can be proven to be incorrect, then it follows that their conclusion must also be fundamentally flawed. If they are flawed from the inception then they can, by no means, come to the right conclusion.

The Concepts of An Infinite Universe & Reality

The concept of a beginning makes sense if we are looking at the universe from a linear point of view. When we see things from a linear perspective then time becomes the only reality. It eliminates all other possibilities. Bound by the limitations of time, we must of necessity have both a beginning and an end. Time facilitates no other view. So the very constraints of this view will ultimately lead to only one conclusion.

Only when we change our lens can we begin to visualize the possibility that perhaps time does not exist. It is very likely that the concept of time may very well be an illusion.

Is it possible that time, in reality, cannot and does not exist?

The Dream Or The Real State?

When you have a dream, during the course of the dream you have an experience of something that’s in the moment appearing to be actually happening. What you are experiencing in this dream state, which you call unreality, appears in all reality to be a real event. You are experiencing an event that appears to have not yet happened, in what you consider to be the ‘real world’.

When we experience that event in our ‘real world’ we are stunned and amazed, and we say that our ‘dream’ has come through. We believe that the event actually took place during this experience. But did it? Or is it that the event took place when we had ‘the dream’, but we are only now experiencing it?

Let’s look at a parallel example and then come back to the dream. When you are watching a movie, you are having all of the sensory experiences of the movie. Depending on the technology, you may actually feel that you are no longer in your seat, but that you have actually been transported to the location of the movie. There, you feel the fear, the exhilaration, the agony, the pain, the physical exhaustion, etc., etc..

However, is what you are experiencing the real event, or did the actual movie and all of the events contained in it take place sometime before? Are you not in that moment, as real as it may seem, only experiencing an edited, recorded copy of the actual event?

Now back to the dream. Let us now consider the hypothesis that the dream state is actually the real state. To do so we will look at the concept of lucid dreaming. Why? Because the theory of lucid dreaming states that by changing the outcome in the dream state we can actually change the experience we have in our ‘reality’. That is, we can change the ‘physical’ outcome. Now, this is only possible if the dream state is in fact the real state. If that is the case then what you experience, seemingly later on, as real as it appears, is merely a projection of the event. It is you experiencing the movie you have already made.

Parallel Events

Another possibility is that both events are parallel events taking place at the same time and your decision in one influences the outcome in another. You on the other hand, because you are locked in a specific conscious reality, one based on time, have a delayed awareness of the event.

This may be a poor example, but it is the best I can think of at the moment. Have you ever been cut and not realized it, later on, you become aware of the cut? Almost immediately, you begin to experience the pain associated with it. The cut was there but, for some reason, you did not have the sensory experience of pain until the cut came to your awareness. The delayed awareness resulted in a delayed experience. So it is a possibility that the event took place before you had the actual awareness of it.

The Linear Perspective

The dream takes place here??………………………the experience takes place here……..??

In the linear view, the scope of my vision is limited. I can only see that which is within an unobstructed view.  My ability to see is ultimately determined by the limit of the visual capabilities of my eyes. The weaker my vision, or the more undulating the terrain the less I’m likely to see. I am also limited by my inability to see multiple events at the same time.

A Circular Perspective

When we change the way we look at things and view them from a circular perspective then we can see all events simultaneously. As we look from an aerial perspective on a circular model, then time is non-existent.  All events can be witnessed at the same time. The levels of the terrain or the distance between the viewer and the object being viewed are no longer as relevant. All are now visible at the same time.

Life is like a circle, there is no beginning and no end, the only thing that changes is the location and the form.

Perpetual Motion

One of the characteristics of energy is that it has no beginning and no end.  Since all things are energy, then all things are composed of that which is eternal. This means that though they may appear to die, they are simply moving out of one form and into another. They are in perpetual motion or states of transition.

They never had a beginning nor can they have an end. This means that the concept of birth and death are all illusions. Instead of speaking of birthing and dying, we should instead be speaking of transitioning into one form and transitioning out of one, into another. When the leaf of a tree falls to the ground it transitions and becomes a part of the soil. It has not died, it has simply changed its location and form. The essence of the leaf has also moved on, it is now somewhere in the universe being constructed into a new form. This it will continue to do ad infinitum, continuously moving in and out of form.

An Infinite Universe Or The Big Bang?

Linear believers generally hold to either the concept of a creator who resided all alone and then one day decided in their great wisdom to bring other entities (including the galaxies) into its essence. So he/she/they through various mediums manifested what exists out of what did not exist. On the other hand, those who do not hold the concept of a creator believe in various versions of the big bang. A gigantic combustion which took place, resulting in the formation of the universe. A universe that previously did not exist.

However, the big bang, if it did exist, is not that which preceded the creation of the universe. Rather it was and is the universe moving in and out of form. Moving from one element into another. Collapsing one form and moving into another. It is in other words recreating itself. Always being, never still, never stagnated.

When the constrain of time is removed and we move from a linear view to a circular perspective then it is possible to now see the universe differently. With the circular view, all things are and always have been. They will, in perpetuity, be in some form of transition. Vibrating at different frequencies, appearing in various forms, but with one constant, that is they always have been and always will be. All part of an infinite universe.
