The Astral Plane

The second level is through interaction with the Astral plane. Those who tend to be a bit more spiritually inclined usually move beyond the Terrestrial/Horizontal plane and into the Astral plane in order to receive information. This is where you would discover individuals speaking about their angels; guides; ancestors; etc. Although these individuals would still heavily depend on the cognitive process to receive most of their information, they do acknowledge that there is another dimension through which knowledge can be accessed.

These people pay careful attention to their dreams and the dreams of those around them. They believe that the dream state is one method through which information is transmitted and through which the future may even be directed. Those who operate on this level may also acknowledge ‘being told’ not to do ‘so and so’ by some voice that cannot be seen, or of being directed to take a certain path.

The Dangers Of Dependency

However many of these individuals will also, because of their own insecurities in regards to their ability to connect with the Astral realm, seek persons they deem to be ‘spiritual’ to intervene on their behalf be they: astrologers; shamans; priests; preachers; prophets; gurus; etc. These are all, like psychedelic substances, crutches that the underdeveloped use to help them in their quest for greater spiritual advancement, and so are not to be despised. Rather, these seekers should be encouraged to advance beyond the need for crutches and learn to walk as men and women made whole.

One of the dangers of operating at this realm is that there are many energies/beings who will appear to be benevolent (i.e.: friendly, kind, helpful) who may in fact be malevolent (i.e.: unfriendly, harmful). When one operates at this level there is always a need to practice great care, while diligently developing the gift of discernment.  We must always be aware that “the ‘devil’ itself might appear as an angel of light” and its ministers will appear very much the same. click on the link below to continue…
